						<section><p>It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span> on a <span class="dictionary">highway</span> in the Commonwealth unless it is equipped with a securely affixed seat for the <span class="dictionary">driver</span>. The seat shall be so located as to permit the <span class="dictionary">driver</span> to adequately control the steering and braking mechanisms and other instruments necessary for the safe operation of the <span class="dictionary">motor vehicle</span>.</p></section></text><history>1973, c. 56, &#xA7; 46.1-302.1; 1989, c. 727.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
