						<section><p>A county or city may withdraw from the transportation district by resolution or <span class="dictionary">ordinance</span>, as may be appropriate, adopted by a majority vote of its governing body. The withdrawal of any county or city shall not be effective until the resolution or <span class="dictionary">ordinance</span> of withdrawal is filed with the transportation <span class="dictionary">district commission</span> and with the <span class="dictionary">Secretary</span> of the Commonwealth.</p></section></text><history>1964, c. 631, &#xA7; 15.1-1368; 1997, c. 587, &#xA7; 15.1-4530; 2014, c. 805.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
