						<section><p>Where the board of viewers has confirmed an assessment for the construction of any public levee, ditch, or drain, and such assessment has been modified by the <span class="dictionary">court</span> to which an <span class="dictionary">appeal</span> has been taken, but for some unforeseen cause it cannot be collected, the board of viewers shall have the power to change or modify the assessments as originally confirmed to conform to the <span class="dictionary">judgment</span> of the higher <span class="dictionary">court</span>, and to cover any deficit that may have been caused by the <span class="dictionary">order</span> of the <span class="dictionary">court</span> or unforeseen occurrence.</p></section></text><history>Code 1919, &#xA7; 1776; 1926, p. 624; 1954, c. 642.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
