						<section><p>As used in this chapter, unless the context requires a different meaning:</p><p>&#x201C;<span class="dictionary">Agency</span>&#x201D; means any state board, department, commission, <span class="dictionary">agency</span> or other unit of state government except a county, city, town or any <span class="dictionary">agency</span> thereof.</p><p>&#x201C;<span class="dictionary">Deaf person</span>&#x201D; means any person whose <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> is so seriously impaired as to prohibit the person from understanding oral communications spoken in a normal conversational tone.</p></section></text><history>1978, c. 602, &#xA7; 2.1-570; 2001, c. 844.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
