						<section><p>Every <span class="dictionary">order</span> discharging a <span class="dictionary">recognizance</span> shall be filed with the clerk before the session of the <span class="dictionary">court</span> at which the <span class="dictionary">party</span> was to appear. Where a <span class="dictionary">person</span> is held under a commitment, any <span class="dictionary">order</span> superseding a commitment shall be delivered to the jailer, who shall forthwith discharge the witnesses, if any, and the <span class="dictionary">accused</span> or juvenile, and <span class="dictionary">judgment</span> against the <span class="dictionary">accused</span> or juvenile shall be entered in the <span class="dictionary">court</span> for the costs of the <span class="dictionary">prosecution</span>.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 19.1-19; 1960, c. 366; 1975, c. 495; 1978, c. 755.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
