						<section><p>Every person owning or occupying any land on which there is a well having a diameter greater than six inches and which is more than ten feet deep shall at all times keep the same covered in such a manner as not to be dangerous to human beings, animals or fowls.</p><p>Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class 3 <span class="dictionary">misdemeanor</span>.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 18.1-74; 1960, c. 358; 1975, cc. 14, 15.</history><metadata><court_decisions><item key="0"><name>Kaniesha Shatae Hannon v.
