						<section><p>In any proceedings brought under the provisions of this chapter, the <span class="dictionary">governing body</span> of the <span class="dictionary">city</span>, may, by <span class="dictionary">ordinance</span> or resolution, decline to accept eligibility for <span class="dictionary">town</span> status on the terms and conditions imposed by the special <span class="dictionary">court</span> at any time prior to twenty-one days after entry of an <span class="dictionary">order</span> granting eligibility for <span class="dictionary">town</span> status, or within twenty-one days after denial of a <span class="dictionary">petition</span> for <span class="dictionary">appeal</span> or within twenty-one days after the entry of the <span class="dictionary">mandate</span> in an <span class="dictionary">appeal</span> which has been granted.</p></section></text><history>1988, c. 881, &#xA7; 15.1-965.19; 1997, c. 587.</history><metadata><court_decisions></court_decisions></metadata></law>
